I thought it would be fitting to get a new tattoo to mark the start of a new decade of life. They read as little mini stories representing different moments in life. Some are faded and I don't love, but I don't regret any of them as they all meant something at the time. I have considered removing one of them, but I'm not sure the pain is worth it! So it will remain and serve as a reminder.
And so when I spotted a place in Alicante that does Burgers and Tattoos - La Folie, I thought, why not. On mentioning it to Aitana, she agreed to come along and that we'd get matching ones. We may not be related by blood, but she's very much the daughter I never had and I love that she has the same Wanderlust in her veins.
We already had something in mind so it was just a case of working out which one. We did that over our burgers which were tasty, and the harder decision was where to have it done. I ended up choosing just above my left ankle. A little plane doing a loop heart. Perfect. Forever joined, not by blood, but by love and that insatiable need to travel.
